The first section of the long-awaited Wekiva Parkway (State Road 429) is scheduled to open at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, January 20, 2016, according to the Florida Department of Transportation.
The 3.14 mile stretch of the Parkway will run from County Road 435 (Mount Plymouth Road) near Haas Road in Orange County to State Road 46 east of Camp Challenge Road in Lake County, thus allowing drivers to bypass downtown Mount Plymouth.
This Parkway will be the first tollway in Central Florida to feature all electronic tolling. The new section includes a partial interchange at SR 46 and a temporary ramp at CR 435 which will be removed once the adjacent Section 2A is built.
Toll Cost: The toll is $0.75 for those with E-PASS or SunPASS. Those without a transponder will pay a $1.00 toll via the Toll by Plate program.
