Mary Block - Wolf Lake Elementary Teacher of the Year
Mary Block has a “gift” of being able to connect with children – making a connection with each child that walks through her door. Her students absolutely ADORE her and she adores them right back, even if they are challenging. She finds the good in EVERY child. She looks for ways to help them be successful and genuinely celebrates their efforts. For years, Mary has been the “go to” teacher for students who have special needs, either academically or behaviorally. It is understood that if the student is placed with her, he or she will be in her heart and she will do everything possible to make sure they succeed.
Each year the Apopka Area Chamber of Commerce honors the hard work of the teachers in our community. The teachers at each school in the community vote for one of their own to be honored as the Teacher of the Year. The school Administrator wrote the above testimonial on behalf of the Honoree’s peers.
