Samuel Davis, General Manager and CEO of The Lake Apopka Natural Gas District thanked Bill Arrowsmith and Billie Dean for their service at the end of yesterday's Board Meeting. Each was given a plaque commemorating their service.
Arrowsmith had served on the LANGD Board for four years. Dean had served for two years. Both were removed from the LANGD board by action initiated by Apopka's Mayor, Joseph Kilsheimer and ratified by the Apopka City Council with a 3-2 vote at the May 18, 2016, Apopka City Council meeting.
Kilsheimer had announced his intention to replace Arrowsmith and Dean with Diane Velazquez and himself during the May 4, 2016, Apopka City Council meeting.
At yesterday's meeting there was a short discussion as to the effective date of the City Council's decision. Was Monday's Board meeting to be Arrowsmith and Dean's last meeting or Kilsheimer and Velazquez's first meeting?
In the end it was decided that Arrowsmith and Dean were no longer board members and that Kilsheimer and Velazquez were the official representatives from Apopka.
