The Foliage Garden Club of Apopka celebrates its 30 Year Anniversary with the Annual Fundraiser Fashion Show on Saturday, February 27, 2016 at the First United Methodist Church in Apopka. Event starts at 11:00 am to 2:00 pm (doors open at 10:30 am). The garden luncheon is catered by South’rn Red Smok’r and the fashions are from the Rich Hippie Boutique, Altamonte Springs.
This year's theme is “Inspiration in the Garden.”
Besides the delicious lunch and exciting fashions, there will be door prizes, the sale of Caladium bulbs for your garden, gift basket chances, and a 50/50 drawing.
Tickets are $20.00 and must be purchased in advance from any club member or contact Kay Huth at 407-889-2872. Deadline for purchase of tickets is Monday, February 22, 2016.
Gather you friends around and create a table at which to laugh, eat, eye those fabulous fashions and take home some Caladium bulbs (The photos is this article are caladiums grown from bulbs purchased at last year's event).
The Foliage Garden Club of Apopka serves the community with beautification projects for areas of the city, scholarships, and member’s education classes, Yard of the Month recognition and the Wekiva Youth Camp. The goals of the club are to promote conservation of wildflowers, trees, and wildlife; cooperate with other service clubs in community activities, especially those related to the beautification of the city; observe Arbor Day with tree plantings; Continue contributions to Garden Club related projects such as the Wekiva Youth Camp, Nature Conservancy, and others; further, instruct our members in horticulture, floral design, and conservation.
