FINFROCK celebrates eight years of sponsoring Habitat for Humanity's Women Build

Posted

FINFROCK, Central Florida’s top design-builder and industry leader in structured parking, recently teamed with Habitat for Humanity Seminole-Apopka and women and men from Seminole County and Greater Apopka to help two local families build their forever homes.

The FINFROCK team, 15 members strong, graciously dedicated their time, skill and muscle to help local families build stability and self-reliance through homeownership. In addition, they raised more than $12,000 in grassroots contributions.

“Each year we look forward to rolling up our sleeves and getting out into the field to build stronger, safer communities for families,” said Shanda Lee, FINFROCK Executive Vice President of Marketing and the FINFROCK Habitat for Humanity Women Build Team Captain. “Affordable housing really affects women in a significant way and FINFROCK is working to address this issue by lending construction skills and the talents of our team of women construction professionals to a meaningful cause.”

This year’s Habitat for Humanity Women Build helped construct homes for Mary Hawkins, a plumbing apprentice set to graduate this May, and Carletha and Eugene Nathan, parents to five grown children and grandparents to 20 children, who had a previous unpleasant experience when they tried to purchase a home.

In addition to being a lead sponsor of the build, FINFROCK rallied other local companies and subcontractors to join the cause as Innovation Partner sponsors, including Associated Building Specialties, Inc., McConnie Fence Co., Stowell and Cabot Construction, Inc.

“We are incredibly thankful to all the sponsors and women build participants who joined us to help make Mary, Carletha and Eugene’s dreams of owning a home come true,” notes Lee. “We can build it, and we did!”
