“How are you feeling today?”
“Are you sure you want to know?”
“Well, sure, that’s the reason I asked!”
“Okay, seeing as you asked, and to be perfectly honest with you, I have been feeling a little under the weather, like the way I feel takes sick to another level!
Let me explain.
About three weeks ago, I went in to visit my darling at the nursing home. Needless to say, I love my wife with an almost unreasonable affection. She is always a pleasure to be around despite this bugaboo of Alzheimer’s disease.
I love her smile and her ready laugh. She is usually upbeat and always ready to express her love.
Wow!
But this visit was different.
I was sitting at Nanny’s bedside when a nurse blew into the room like a draft of cold air and, with a sour expression, announced that Nanny had been diagnosed with COVID about a week before.
Boy, oh boy, there is no news like bad news, or so they say!
Here I am, 88 years old, and bam, just like that, I come down with COVID!
And this brings us back to the catchy title for this tale of woe, SICK, SORE, TIRED, AND MORE!
COVID ain't fun! And you can take that to the bank!
One of the nasty little side effects of covid is a drastic loss of appetite and let's not forget Montezuma’s revenge, which tends to leave you as weak as a wet diaper.
Ho boy, how much fun can a person have?
One of the critical points here is to stay properly hydrated, six to eight glasses of water a day, and then there is the issue of proper nutrition! And then there are those supplements! Whatever you do, don’t allow yourself to become depleted nutritionally
Get plenty of rest, seven to eight hours of sleep per night, and if you need a nap, take it!
Whatever you do, don’t allow yourself to become depleted mentally, physically, emotionally, or above all, spiritually.
Papa God is anxious to give you healing and relief. Just how anxious is he?
Well, here I am, and my energy is coming back, my appetite is so good I could almost eat wallpaper paste, and I am sleeping again!
Papa God, you know much better than we do what we need, so we come to you with praise and thanksgiving. Praise you, our wonderful and gracious friend; we love you so very much! Please, accept our worship as that which is your due. In Jesus’ wonderful name, we ask it, Amen.
