Breaking News: Apopka Police and Fire respond to car fire, shooting

Updated at 2:00 PM - Greg Brown, a resident at the Orange North Apartments, told The Apopka Voice that he woke up around 10:30 PM and saw Apopka Police and Fire vehicles in front of his unit. He said he believes the victim is his neighbor who is a local restaurant manager. He also said he heard the victim's car was "torched" and he was shot.
Original Story (Posted at 1:15 PM): The Apopka Police Department is investigating a shooting at the Orange North Apartments last night which might be related to a nearby car fire that the APD responded to earlier.
At approximately 10:00 PM on Wednesday evening, APD responded to a call in regards to a burning car on South Hawthorne Avenue and 5th Street. Later, the APD responded to a shooting victim at the 
Orange North Apartment Complex.
The victim suffered a gunshot wound and was transported to a local hospital. Both incidents are under an active investigation, and are attempting to connect the two incidents.
The Orange North Apartments are located at 943 West Orange Blossom Trail in Apopka, about 1.4 miles from South Hawthorne Avenue and Fifth Street.
