The Apopka Voice has learned that Eric Mock will run for Seat #4 in the upcoming 2024 election. Commissioner Nick Nesta is the current incumbent and has not announced his intention to run for re-election.
"I watched with interest since my campaign in 2022 the progress of the Council," said Mock. "I am running to provide a voice of reason. I believe the council has gotten off track in doing the business of the city. I look forward to my campaign and working for Apopka and its future."
Mock is an Apopka resident, a member of the Apopka City Planning Commission, and a realtor at You Have Realty.
If Nesta chooses to defend his seat, it would set up a rematch of the Seat #4 special election of 2022, which he won with 61.5% of the vote. Mock also filed to run in the Seat #3 special election later in 2022 but withdrew before the qualifying week.
