The Wekiva Mustangs, despite starting the season 3-0, went into their bye week ranked #1 in the Associated Press top 10
poll for Class 8A schools in Florida. But despite not losing a game dropped to #2. The Apopka Blue Darters, on the other hand, fell out of the top 10 after a 37-20 loss to Lakeland two weeks ago but returned to the top 10 this week after a 38-7 thrashing of the defending state champion Dr. Phillips High School. The Blue Darters (3-1) are ranked #9 in the poll.
The Mustangs return to action this Friday against the Olympia Titans, who are 1-3 on the season. The game is at Wekiva High School and kickoff is scheduled for 7 PM. Admission is $6.
