Krista Delong, first time drama teacher at Apopka Middle School, took her thespian troupe to The Florida Junior Thespian State Festival earlier this month and came away with a lot of awards. The troupe received 8 excellent, and 5 superior ratings from the event judges. Rebecca Pennell’s monologue was one of the superior ratings. She also received Best in Show. She performed her monologue on the Main Stage at the Bob Carr Theatre in Orlando. At Districts, one the troupe's pantomimes received Best In Show. It was titled: Troublesome Airlines and featured Alayna Dean, Marisa Dean, Evana Lutz and Jameson Stobbe.
DeLong feels fortunate to have almost 50 thespians in her program.
The troupe is currently holding auditions for the spring musical Honk Jr.
