The Apopka Area Chamber of Commerce has been recognizing business and community leaders for decades but has only recently broadened the recognition to include the honors announced today.
In total, the Chamber bestows eight business awards and also recognize the Police Officer and Firefighter of the Year. The police and fire honorees are selected by the Apopka Police and Fire Departments. At the Chairman’s discretion, a ninth Chamber award, “The Chairman’s Award” may be presented as a way for the Chamber Board Chairman to acknowledge an outstanding member for his or her contributions.
Honorees are selected by a committee comprised of Chamber staff, Chamber Board members and Chamber members at large and will be presented at the Chamber's annual Black Tie Gala in June.
