“I put a bomb in your store. Have a nice day.”
Those were the words of a call received by the Walmart Super Center (1700 South Orange Blossom Trail in Apopka) at around 1pm Monday afternoon according to Apopka Police Department (APD) spokesperson Sgt. Kim Walsh. The call triggered Walmart into an emergency protocol, which includes calling the police and evacuating the store.
The caller did not state a time or location, the threat was deemed not credible and within 30-60 minutes the store was cleared by the APD. By 2pm the store was re-opened and operating normally.
The investigation into the identity of the caller is ongoing, according to Sgt. Walsh.
