Improvisation: The art or act of improvising, or of composing, uttering, executing, or arranging anything without previous preparation.
Improv: The art of acting like a fool in front of an audience, without any whatsoever.
Improvisational theatre is the form of theatre in which most or all of what is performed is unplanned or unscripted. Everything; dialogue, action, story, and characters is created spontaneously by the performers.
Tonight the Apopka High School Drama Department presents Hoka Ha! A Night of Improv.
It is an improv comedy show; the cast will perform short and hilarious scenes on a moments’ notice, without any preparation whatsoever besides an audience suggestion.
They put themselves on the spot, and the result is pure fun.
