It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas... in Apopka.
Saturday marks the beginning of a two-week sprint to Christmas Day in Apopka. First, there is a parade, then a trip to a local Christmas Market, and finally a concert at the Amphitheater, all happening this Saturday (Dec. 11). For more details on those events, keep reading!
On Saturday at 10 am, the Foliage Sertoma Club and the City of Apopka present the 45th Annual Apopka Christmas Parade. This year's theme is Health, Hope, and Unity.
The 2021 parade will follow the traditional route, which runs northbound on Park Avenue from United Methodist Church of Apopka to Votaw Road.
Crowds of up to 25,000 have attended the parade in previous years, with 90-plus floats, vehicles, marching bands, and displays parading down Park Avenue.
The parade originated in 1967 and has become one of the largest in Orange County.

Join the Orlando Philharmonic at the Annual Holiday Pops concert at The Apopka Amphitheater. Pack a picnic and enjoy the sounds of the season with familiar favorites to delight the entire family. This event is free and open to the general public.
Gates open at 4 PM. The concert begins at 5 PM. Parking is free for this event. Tents and pets are not permitted.
The Amphitheater has seats available for patrons, but also provides a large, grassy area for patrons to set up their own outside seating arrangements. Thus, outside seating and blankets are permitted.
Now in its 28th season, the Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra returns to Apopka for its Holiday Pops Concert Saturday from 5-7 pm at the Apopka Amphitheater. The orchestra is led by Music Director Eric Jacobsen and is comprised of creative musicians and artists from around the world.
