I think Design is the issue. I did some reading and in order to make a downtown walkable you need streets that are 1 lane each way. No one wants to run across a 4 lane road to get to the other side. I think the Council is definitely on board. There needs to be a plan and and a time line. I love Sanford and Mt Dora and even DeLand's Downtown but I would love to just be able to stay local and go downtown for brunch and maybe an art festival.
