My daddy was very near death from malaria in the army, when he was stationed in northern Africa, but he survived. They were ready to put a toe tag on him, and ship his body back. You used to be able to buy quinine tablets over the counter, but laws changed that, and now you can't get them OTC. I tried to buy some quinine tablets to treat my leg cramps, not for malaria. Could not get them OTC.
