This is a well presented argument, and I concur the fire chief needs to go. Not even visiting the kid in the hospital?? That's inexcusable. The other items listed can also largely be attributed to the chief, but the AFD has a chain of command. Be careful what you wish for. If I were the next chief I would be asking a LOT of questions about that incident, I would have questions about standards and accountability. I'm not saying anything bad about our firemen and women, but I am saying there is definitely more than one 'chief', and certainly more than one person accountable for the condition of this department. Personal accountability IS a thing.
