Not sure why he feels he has to wait until October 31st. The mayor has no problem paying an employee well after his resignation has been submitted. Enough damage has been caused in Wylam’s wake. You can leave now. No lost love. No lost admiration. No lost honor. I am only sorry this didn’t come 2 years ago, to date. I am disappointed Wylam still refuses Austin’s name and still refuses to accept any accountability for the death of his rookie firefighter. He most certainly does not deserve the traditional Golden Ax. Sadly now, it loses its value to real fire chiefs, trusted and capable fire chiefs. At the end of the day and to mark 2 years since the negligent death of Apopka Firefighter Austin Duran, the top of the poor leadership team will be gone. I will celebrate the life of my son, and the loss of Wylam.
