From the Apopka Art & Jazz Festival
The Apopka Art and Jazz Festival is making a change in 2017. Not to the art or jazz, but to the venue.
Some of the best student artwork, music, agriscience exhibits with live animals and kite flying will be at the 8th Annual Apopka Art and Jazz Festival. The cultural event will be held at the Apopka Amphitheater at the Northwest Recreation Complex. It features the talent of Orange County students. The festival also raises funds for art programs.
The event includes musical performances by middle and high school bands, elementary school choruses, and chamber music groups. Student and teacher art will be on display. Food and drink will be available for purchase. Tickets are $5. They can be purchased at participating schools and at the event entrance.
District 7 School Board member Christine Moore said, “While the event is a great fundraiser for Orange County schools’ cultural arts programs, it’s also a fun day for families.”
