Apopka Voice crosses the 3,000 mark

Posted

Yesterday The Apopka Voice crossed the 3,000 "likes" line on Facebook. Not bad for a publication that is only eight months old. The staff at The Apopka Voice would like to thank all of our readers for your support.

"Liking” our Facebook page is only one way for our readers to get notification of every article we publish on our news website. BTW - Facebook has made some changes to their system. To be sure to get new article notifications be sure to check "All On" and "See First" in the "Liked" drop-down menu.

The best way to get immediate notification of each story we publish is to set a Google News Alert. Google will automatically send you an email with a link to the story within minutes of publication.

Speaking of our website…

According to Google Analytics, in the last 30 days there has been more than 25,000 readers on TheApopkaVoice.com website. Yes, there are 22,000 more people reading The Apopka Voice than have liked us on Facebook.

This is not surprising as we are not a Facebook Page. We use Facebook and other social media platforms to alert readers to new articles Since December 15th, we have published over 1,200 articles.

We are a Local Independent Online News website. We try to publish a new article about Apopka every 2 hours on week days, and we publish immediately when there is breaking news. The articles are first published on our website; TheApopkaVoice.com, then we post links to the articles on Facebook and other social media platforms.

We try to publish a new article mostly about Apopka every 2 hours on week days, and we publish immediately when there is breaking news. The articles are first published on our website; TheApopkaVoice.com, then we post links to the articles on Facebook and other social media platforms. We are using Facebook to deliver the articles to your computer and/or mobile device. Since December 15th, we have published over 900 articles. We also encourage our readers to use Facebook to comment on articles. Facebook comments are so much better than Letters to the Editor. First, they are immediate... no waiting for your letter to be “approved” and published. Second, there is unlimited space. We don’t have to pick the “best” letters to publish or limit the number of words. Third, others can comment on your comments. This helps the whole Apopka community to have a voice.

We know that not every article will be of interest to every one of our 25,000 readers, but if you see an article that is of interest to you it will probably be of interest to one or more of your Facebook friends. The best way to help them be as informed as you is to share the article using Facebook’s “Share” and "Tag" features to make it visible to your friends.

And yes, we have another reason for asking you to “Share” as many of our articles as possible. “Sharing” spreads the word to more people, which leads to more readers, which leads to more visibility for our advertisers, which leads to more advertisers.

And more advertisers allows us to publish even more articles about Apopka.

And that is what we are all about; publishing as many articles as possible so that those who live here know what is happening in Apopka.
