Trail repairs and detours at Lake Apopka North Shore this weekend

Trail repairs are underway on sections of the St. Johns River Water Management District’s Lake Apopka Loop Trail. The work, which requires closing the lakeside section of the Lake Apopka Wildlife Drive, will repair damage from Hurricane Irma.

WHAT: Detour on the Lake Apopka Wildlife Drive

WHEN: Starting May 4, and ongoing through June

WHERE: Lakeshore Spur Road, located west of Welland Road at the historic pumphouse and Laughlin Road Extension, south of Roach Road

To ensure public safety, signs direct visitors to accessible routes in the area. Visitors are asked to obey all posted notices as well as to always use caution while recreating on district property. More information about recreational closures is available at www.sjrwmd.com/lands/recreation.
