Public invited to view voting equipment testing

Orange County voters are invited to observe the testing of the voting and tabulating equipment to be used during the August 30 Primary Election.

The testing will take place during a public meeting of the Orange County Canvassing Board tomorrow at 9:00 AM at the office of the Supervisor of Elections, 119 W. Kaley Street, Orlando, Florida.

The Board will also discuss other matters relating to the August 30, 2016 Primary Election.

The current members of the Orange County Canvassing Board are; County Judge Jeanette Bigney, County Commissioner Bryan Nelson and Orange County Supervisor of Elections Bill Cowles.

"This will be the first time I have participated in the Logic and Accuracy testing of any voting equipment," said Nelson. ""I am looking forward to it and encourage voters to come and watch this part of the election process."

Sealed vote-by-mail ballots received prior to 8:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 10, 2016, for the Primary Election will be available for public inspection from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. on

Friday, August 12, 2016 at the office of the Supervisor of Elections, 119 W. Kaley Street,Orlando, Florida. At 10:00 a.m., those ballots will be opened; however, not tabulated.

Tabulation of all vote-by-mail ballots will not begin until 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 30, 2016. Vote-by-mail ballots received after the initial opening will be opened soon after they are received.
