Updated 10:30 AM - Detectives from the Orange County Homicide Unit are releasing the name of the victim who was discovered in his residence after a fire occurred. His name is Richard Anthony Newburn, 61 of Apopka.

Detectives believe Mr. Newburn’s death was accidental. However, the Bureau of Fire and Arson Investigations (State Fire Marshall) will release all final details concerning this incident.

From 9 AM - Multiple fire engines from Orange County Fire and Rescue responded to a house fire on Alexandria Place Drive in Apopka at approximately 2 AM this morning, and a man was found in the house who died in the fire.

According to the OCFR Media Relations Department, there were about 30 firefighters involved in extinguishing the blaze with 13 units - including six fire engines, two-aerials, two-rescues, one-battalion chief, one-captain, one-rehab unit. The Apopka Fire Department was also called to assist.

The first units arriving had heavy fire in the one-story house and the victim was located by firefighters during the initial search.

The fire was extinguished, and the Florida Bureau of Fire and Arson Investigations will determine the cause.

Authorities have not released the identity of the victim.
