Two Leesburg men shot in Apopka

Yesterday, at approximately 10:20 pm, the Apopka Police Department received information regarding two gunshot wound victims at Orlando Regional Medical Center.

The Orlando Police Department notified the APD, reporting the incident had occurred in Apopka.

The victims, both of Leesburg, claimed they travelled from Leesburg to an undisclosed location in Apopka to purchase and/or use narcotics. During the transaction, both were shot by an unknown male. Neither victim received life threatening injuries and they drove themselves to Orlando Regional Medical Center where they were listed in stable condition.

Neither of the injured were cooperative or could identify the shooting location or suspect. No scene was found in Apopka and no other calls for service were received regarding this incident. Apopka Police detectives are following up with the case, however, both of the injured have declined to prosecute.

Victim 1 was found to have an active warrant for felony Failure to Appear for a drug charge out of Okaloosa County, Florida. He was arrested upon release from the hospital and transported to the Orange County Jail.

This is still an active investigation. No other details were provided by the APD.
