Welcome to The Apopka Voice's new website

A new look with easier access and interaction

Posted

Welcome to The Apopka Voice's new website! Take a few minutes and look around. We think you'll like it.

We apologize for the temporary glitches you may have experienced on Friday afternoon during the site's transition. We are still tweaking things but have most everything ironed out and are ready to continue informing, inspiring, and engaging the residents of Apopka.

This is the second time we've redesigned the site since our launch in 2015. We think it's vital to invest in improvements when advances in online technology enhance our product and give our readers a better experience.

We are also introducing a new logo with blue and maroon red colors that pay tribute to the Apopka Blue Darters and the Wekiva Mustangs. We also used the West Orange Trail Bridge because it is an iconic symbol of the city, and it represents, unity northern, and southern Apopka.

One of the first things you'll notice about the new site is the larger, more vivid photos that add a more powerful visual element than we've utilized before. We've also added more articles and distinctive categories to our front page to give our readers more options and easier access to the content they choose.

This new format will also allow us to dive deeper into videos, podcasts, polls, and surveys, which we plan on utilizing in the coming weeks.

There are also more options coming for the community to share and connect with each other through online classifieds, events, announcements (graduations/obituaries/weddings)... even advertising will be at your fingertips to get the word out to our readership of 70,000 and growing!

As always, there are no paywalls, subscription rates, or membership fees. We think it's important that all Apopka readers can access a local, independent, online news site free of charge. Now more than ever, it's vital that Apopka residents are well informed about local news that affects them most.

We hope you like the new site. After you finish looking around, let us know what you think by leaving a comment with your thoughts and suggestions below.

Thanks again for reading The Apopka Voice.
