Do you feel as though you don’t focus on yourself as much as you should? Maybe you feel as though you need to make a positive change but don’t quite know how to go about doing this. Either way, all you have to do is take a look below to see some of the top warning signs that show you need to put yourself first.
You get sick a lot
Getting sick often is a major sign that you aren’t taking good care of yourself. When you don’t have the nutrition you need, you may find that you end up with a weakened immune system and that you are also far more vulnerable to infections and the flu. Never before has it been more important for you to take care of yourself, so make sure that you are eating a lot of fruit, and vegetables while moderating alcohol. Avoiding smoking is also a wise choice that could end up benefiting you in the future.
Increased moodiness
When a child doesn’t get the attention that they deserve, you may find that they act out so that they end up getting any kind of attention they can. If you don’t show yourself any self-care or if you make yourself feel unimportant then this can lead to more irritability. Even adults can have temper tantrums from time to time and this is especially the case when they don’t feel heard or understood. If you feel moody during interactions with your friends then this is a major sign that you need to make a change. If you don’t then this may go on to impact you more than you realize in the future.
Physical symptoms
What can start as a scary symptom, can be a sign that you are not taking care of yourself. If you experience fainting, GI disturbances or a lot of headaches then this is a sign that you need to visit your healthcare provider. If you don’t then you may find that you end up making things worse and this is the last thing you need. If you are isolating yourself because you have a hearing problem or because you don’t feel as though you can move around as much as you used to because of an injury then now is the time for you to do something about that. Consider optimizing your auditory experience through fittings so you can hear better, or talk with your doctor to see if there is anything they can do to help.
Feeling isolated
When you feel as though life is getting you down and you don’t feel as though you deserve to take care of yourself, you may feel unworthy in other aspects of your life. You may find it hard to socialize and you may even find it difficult to have a true sense of connection. This can lead to isolation. If you are avoiding others then this is a sign that you need to reevaluate things in your life.
