Two minors die in collision

From The Florida Highway Patrol

A collision between two vehicles traveling on Orange Blossom Trail near Brownell Street in Orlando at around 3:15PM yesterday resulted in two fatalities. The collision caused delays on OBT for hours.

According to the FHP report, April Gallon, 31 of Orlando, was driving a 2006 Pontiac sedan northbound on OBT with her two daughters - Kayla Johnson (10), and Jasmin Johnson (12). For an unknown reason Gallon drove into the southbound lanes and crashed into Clermond Laferriere, 59 of Apopka, who was driving a 2004 Cadillac SUV southbound on OBT. The front end of Laferriere's vehicle crashed into the right side of Gallon's vehicle.

Gallon and Laferriere were both transported to Orlando Regional Medical Center with minor non-life-threatening injuries. Both Kayla and Jasmin Johnson died from injuries they suffered during the crash.

The crash remains under investigation.
