"The Apopka Community Task Force on Violence is committed to community engagement as a continuous vehicle to open dialogue and further develop meaningful relationships between the community and the Apopka Police Department and Orange County Sheriff’s Office," said Task Force co-Chair Rod Love. "If we sit back and wait until the next crisis to hit and think that we have done enough to develop mutual trust in order expediently thwart bad actors from succeeding, we would only be fooling ourselves."

"I must commend Chief McKinley and Sheriff Demings for their extraordinary attention to the extent of the level of community engagement and also recognize the faith community’s commitment and leadership. Pastors (Hezekiah) Bradford, (Richard) King and (Darrel) Morgan as well as numerous others, understand in order to get a return on investment, visibility, dialogue and community engagement must take place throughout the year."

"Co-Chair Retired Orange County Sheriff’s Commander Ken Wilson and I have invited Orange County’s Head Start whom will be registering kids."

"Habitat for Humanity has been invited to provide information regarding the application process for the Apopka 56-unit affordable housing planned development. Orange County Mayor Jacobs and Commissioner Bryan Nelson are directly impacting the lives of Apopkans based on the various services direct and indirect community center services, housing, job training, job placement and interconnecting community residents to relevant self-improvement activities to improve their lives and that of their families."
