Here is our No Spoilers Review!

Many movie fans don’t need a reason to see The Force Awakens, but in case you’re on the fence about whether or not to go, here are 3 reasons you must see it:

1. Nostalgia

Director J.J. Abrams found a wonderful balance between paying homage to George Lucas’ work and introducing new characters and story lines. Abrams has had a lot of experience reigniting a former sci fi franchise, thanks to his work on Star Trek. He brings back Han Solo’s humor, Leia’s confidence and loyal and lovable droids. that will make any Star Wars fan nostalgic. One of my favorite lines I’ve read in a review about Star Wars is from The Guardian:

“There are very few films which leave me facially exhausted after grinning for 135 minutes.”

2. New Faces

Joining the Star Wars franchise are two new actors–Daisey Ridley (Rey) and John Boyega (Finn). When I heard that these actors were, for lack of a better term, ‘nobodies’ and this was their first major movie, I was questioning how good the movie would be as the trailers insinuate they are leading characters. But my worries quickly subsided in the first 15 minutes of the film as Ridley and Boyega prove they are worthy of their title roles. They are complex and emotional and its obvious that Abrams tapped into their potential.star wars

3. Old Faces

Star Wars fans will be happy to see some very familiar faces on the screen–Carrie Fisher (Leia), Harrison Ford (Han Solo), Chewie, C-3P0 and some other famous faces. On opening night, the entire theater erupted in cheers when Han Solo & Chewie appeared on screen. Most importantly, these characters are not simply thrown into The Force Awakens to generate ticket sales; they play important roles and their story arcs are integral to the movie.

The Force Awakens is simply good movie making. It is adventurous, fun and full of heart. Go see it!
