The Apopka Blue Darters, coming off a 21-7 loss to Jacksonville Mandarin, fell out of the Class 8A Associated Press Top 10 poll. The Blue Darters did receive six votes, which was not enough to hold their previous #9 ranking. The Wekiva Mustangs, on the other hand, maintained their #6 ranking after a 34-0 win over the defending state champion Dr. Phillips Panthers last Friday.
Both Apopka and Wekiva are in action this Friday. The Blue Darters (5-2, 1-0) travel to Winter Garden to play district rival West Orange (5-2, 1-0), while Wekiva (5-1, 0-1) hosts the Evans Trojans (1-5, 0-1).
Both games are scheduled to kickoff at 7 PM on Friday and admission is $6.
