Good news this Veterans Day: Local career program receives $38K to help Veterans; Hiring event next week

For the third consecutive year, CareerSource Central Florida has been honored with the Veterans’ Performance Incentive Award from Governor Ron DeSantis which includes a $38,000 grant that will be used to even further enhance career readiness programs offered to our region’s Veterans. Established by the Jobs Veterans Act, these awards are granted to organizations that encourage the improvement of employment, training and placement services for Veterans and recognize local workforce development boards for excellence or demonstrated improvements in the provision of employment and training opportunities to thousands of Veterans.

Paychecks for Patriots Hiring Event - November 10

Also this month, the organization is coordinating a free hiring event dedicated to Central Florida Veterans. The annual “Paychecks for Patriots” career fair will connect local members of the military and veteran community with career opportunities across multiple industries including hospitality, trade and logistics, and transportation. The event takes place Wednesday, Nov. 10 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., and participants may attend virtually, or in-person, at the Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress Hotel.
