Orange County Local Alternative Mobility Network Project – Department of Transportation Recipient: Orange County Government Award: $20,000,000 Description: This project, located in south Orange County at Lake Nona, a 17-square-mile innovative “Wellbeing Community” adjacent to Orlando International Airport, will construct: shared mobility lanes; dedicated rights of way; recovery zones for user equipment repairs, rest, and hydration; sheltered waiting areas; upgrading of existing pedestrian and bicycle paths; naturally shaded and streetscape environments; wayfinding; a transit hub; and autonomous vehicle infrastructure facilitating local adoption of AVs. Health Center Cluster Grants – Department of Health and Human Services Recipient: Health Care Center for the Homeless Award: $1,706,940 Description: This grant awards funds for community-based and patient-directed organizations that deliver comprehensive, culturally competent, high-quality primary health care services. Health centers also often integrate access to pharmacy, mental health, substance use disorder, and oral health services in areas where economic, geographic, or cultural barriers limit access to affordable health care services. Health centers deliver care to the Nation’s most vulnerable individuals and families, including people experiencing homelessness, agricultural workers, residents of public housing, and the Nation’s veterans.
Recovery Community Services Program – Department of Health and Human Services Award Ceiling: $300,000 Application Deadline: December 23, 2019 Description: The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, Center for Substance Abuse Treatment, is accepting applications for the fiscal year 2020 Recovery Community Services Program. The purpose of this program is to provide peer recovery support services via recovery community organizations to individuals with substance use disorders or co-occurring substance use and mental disorders or those in recovery from these disorders. The program’s foundation is the value of the lived experience of peers to assist others in achieving and maintaining recovery. These services, in conjunction with clinical treatment services, are an integral component of the recovery process. More Information: https://www.grants.gov/web/grants/view-opportunity.html?oppId=321840 Solid Waste Management Grant Program – Department of Agriculture Award Ceiling: $1,000,000 Application Deadline: December 31, 2019 Description: Funds may be used for: Evaluating current landfill conditions to determine threats to water resources; provide technical assistance and/or training to enhance operator skills in the operation and maintenance of active landfills; provide technical assistance and/or training to help communities reduce the solid waste stream; provide technical assistance and/or training for operators of landfills which are closed or will be closed in the near future with the development and implementation of closure plans, future land use plans, safety and maintenance planning, and closure scheduling within permit requirements. Grant funds may not be used to recruit applications for the Agency’s water and waste loan and/or any loan and/or grant program; duplicate current services, or replace or substitute support normally provided by other means, such as those performed by an association’s consultant in developing a project, including feasibility, design, and cost estimates; fund political or lobbying activities; pay for capital assets; purchase real estate or vehicles, improve or renovate office space, or repair and maintain privately owned property; pay the costs for construction, improvement, rehabilitation, modification or operation and maintenance of water, wastewater, and solid waste disposal facilities. More Information: https://www.grants.gov/web/grants/view-opportunity.html?oppId=321135 Zika Virus (ZIKV) Complications – Department of Health and Human Services Award Ceiling: $200,000 Application Deadline: January 7, 2020 Description: The purpose of this Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) is to provide support for research on Zika virus (ZIKV) and its complications. This FOA replaces PAR-16-106 which had used rolling application due dates to facilitate the rapid review and award of particularly urgent or time-sensitive projects. More Information: https://www.grants.gov/web/grants/view-opportunity.html?oppId=298699 Job Corps Scholars Program – Department of Labor Award Ceiling: $1,186,900 Application Deadline: January 8, 2020 Description: Through this announcement, the Job Corps Scholars Program will serve Job Corps eligible youth enrolled at selected community colleges, HBCUs and TCCUs. For students designated by the grantees as “Job Corps Scholars,” these educational institutions will provide free tuition for their first year in the Job Corps Scholars program, career technical training, and intensive personal and career counseling services to support and facilitate completion of the program. In addition, employment counseling services will be provided, including follow-up employment services. These projects will serve low income young adults between the ages of 16 to 24 who have at least one characteristic that is a barrier to education and employment. Eligible applicants include: accredited, two-year, public community colleges; accredited, public, two- and four-year historically Black colleges and universities or HBCUs, and accredited, two- and four-year tribal colleges and universities or TCCUs with at least one certification training program that can be completed in 12 months or less. More Information: https://www.grants.gov/web/grants/view-opportunity.html?oppId=321659 Carbon Storage Assurance Facility Enterprise (CarbonSAFE): Site Characterization and CO2 Capture Assessment – Department of Energy Award Ceiling: $35,000,000 Application Deadline: January 15, 2020 Description: The overall objective of this Funding Opportunity Announcement is to accelerate wide-scale deployment of Carbon Capture, Utilization and Storage (CCUS) through assessing and verifying safe and cost-effective anthropogenic CO2 commercial-scale storage sites, and carbon capture and/or purification technologies.
