City launches “Vision Apopka” strategic planning initiative, invites public input

Posted

What will Apopka look like in 2030? Can you envision it? Would you like to help shape that vision? The City of Apopka is charting a course for the future, and residents are invited to help shape it.

As part of its ongoing effort to update the city’s five-year strategic plan, the City launched Vision Apopka, a community-centered initiative designed to gather public input on priorities, goals, and values that will guide decision-making over the next half-decade.

The strategic plan will serve as a roadmap for the city’s future growth and development, incorporating feedback from residents, businesses, and key stakeholders. It will also establish the city’s updated mission, vision, and long-term objectives.

Get Involved

To make the planning process as inclusive and effective as possible, the city is offering multiple ways for residents to engage. Community members can visit Apopka’s Social PinPoint site, where they can share their thoughts on the “Ideas Wall” and complete a community survey. These tools are available online now and are designed to collect diverse perspectives on what matters most to Apopka residents.

In addition to online participation, the city will host three public forums in August at Apopka City Hall’s Council Chambers:

All sessions will be livestreamed on the City of Apopka’s YouTube channel to ensure accessibility for those who prefer to participate virtually.

“These workshops and digital tools give every resident a chance to be part of the conversation,” the city shared in its release. “We want to know what you think Apopka’s priorities should be—your feedback will help shape the city’s direction for years to come."

What's Next

After gathering input from the community and stakeholders, city staff will draft the updated strategic plan over the coming months. The final version is expected to be presented to the Apopka City Council for adoption later this year.

To participate and share your ideas, visit the Vision Apopka page on the City of Apopka website and click the “Strategic Plan 2025” button.

So now Nelson wants to hear from the public ? Of course he does with an election coming up. The first vision this city needs is new leadership. Eight years has been enough.
