Cat Month: Pet Alliance in Central Florida launches an April initiative dedicated to the feline friends in our community

Posted

“Kitten Season” is upon us, and Central Florida’s go-to pet experts Pet Alliance of Greater Orlando are dedicating a month to our feline friends with the kickoff of “Cat Month”.

Running all month long, Pet Alliance will feature special kitty content on www.petallianceorlando.org/cat-resources, including the launch of a new “PAWdcast” that fosters conversation about animal welfare topics in the sheltering world and beyond.  The first episode features the dynamic duo who lead Pet Alliance’s Community Cat Initiative Cathy Houde and Rodney Purvis, who will educate listeners on the Trap-Neuter-Vaccinate-Return (TNVR) programs and how they help cats and their communities.  Pet Alliance will also feature a “Cat of the Week” adoptable during Cat Month.

Plus, the cat-loving community will enjoy fun and educational content and tips all month long on various topics, such as kitten season, finding a kitten in the wild, fostering, adopting a cat, cat medical education, community cats, and a closer look at Pet Alliance’s TNVR program, which works to decrease the number of homeless kittens being born.

“We are very excited to give extra attention to our beloved cats and kittens this April,” says Pet Alliance Executive Director Steve Bardy.  “The cat-loving community is as loyal as any other.  After suffering such a devastating loss last year of losing 17 members of our feline family, it’s especially important to us to bring extra focus, care, and awareness to our cat and kitten population and give them the best care possible.”

Pet Alliance of Greater Orlando was founded in 1937 as the Orlando Humane Society. Since then, the organization has worked hard to provide positive and safe outcomes for pets. Today, Pet Alliance has a dedicated focus on the welfare and well-being of dogs and cats in Orange, Seminole, and Osceola Counties.  As the “go-to” experts in Greater Orlando, they do good things for dogs and cats and the people who love them. For more information on Pet Alliance, donations and to see available pets for adoption in real-time, visit www.petallianceorlando.com.
