Breaking News Overnight: Driver dies after two-vehicle collision on Apopka Boulevard

Troopers from the Florida Highway Patrol responded to a two-vehicle collision last night in Apopka that resulted in the death of a driver.

According to the FHP report, at approximately 9:26 pm a 2014 Toyota 4-Runner driven by a 29-year-old Orlando man was traveling westbound on Apopka Boulevard approaching Overland Road.

At the same time, a 2016 Kia Soul driven by a 66-year-old Orlando woman was traveling southbound on Overland Road, approaching Apopka Boulevard.

As they approached, the first vehicle failed to stop at the stop sign, and its front collided with the left side of the second vehicle.

The first vehicle's driver and two passengers (a 26-year-old Apopka man and a 13-year-old Orlando male) reported no injuries to the FHP.

The second vehicle's driver was transported to AdventHealth Apopka and pronounced deceased.

This crash remains under investigation.

The FHP did not release the names of the drivers or passengers involved in the collision.
