I always thought that the city center sign was installed intentionally during the mayoral elections to try and make Bryan Nelson appear as a competent and “doer” mayor. How convenient that barely any work was done at all, except for some tape around the sign and visible dirt from 441 lol. It looks so bad and the administration does not seem to care. It’s also funny that the people turning their noses up on the affordable apartment complex are likely the people that would need affordable housing if they suddenly had to sell or foreclosure their home or got kicked out. Or the fact that Main Street is plagued with cheap fast food options, sketchy gas stations, a laundromat, and homes that average people live in… who do these elitist Apopkans think they are? And another thing—Starbucks and most food service places don’t provide a living wage to their employees and yet supposedly Starbucks is pulling out of the city center project? Where do they expect their workers, or any of the other workers in nearby business, to live? Even with roommates, the average apartment in central Florida is absurdly priced nowadays.
