Last Day to Register for Back to School Fair

Today, Tuesday, August 2nd is the last day to register for the Back to School Fair. Visit the John Bridges Community Center at 445 W 13th St, Apopka, FL 32703 or call 407-245-9449 and press "0" for more information.

The 2016 Annual Back-to-School Fair scheduled for Saturday, August 6, 2016 at the John H. Bridges Community Center in Apopka. The event is designed to provide school supplies to children in the Apopka community.

"Last year the team at the Bridges Center was able to provide 650 backpacks to children and teens from Pre-Kindergarten to 12th Grade," said Orange County Commissioner Bryan Nelson. "This year our goal is to have over 400 families attend and provide at least 1,000 backpacks to children full of school supplies to better equip them for school."

Every $12 donated results in one fully loaded backpack of school supplies to a child in need. The backpacks will include the following;

1 ruler

3 folders

1 blunt scissors

24PK crayons

10 #2 pencils

8ct. pack of markers

1 large glue Stick

1 wedge eraser

1 pencil sharpener

100 pg. composition book

150 ct. pack of filler paper

The backpack fair will take place on August 06, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. but you must be registered in advance to receive a free backpack.
