Rally Supporting Law Enforcement at 8 AM Today

Posted

The shooting of six law enforcement officers in Baton Rouge LA earlier today has prompted the South Apopka Ministerial Alliance to call the Apopka Community together for a public show of support for law enforcement.

Pastor Hezekiah Bradford, President of the South Apopka Ministerial Alliance apologized for the short notice during a hastily-called conference call on Sunday evening. “I know it is short notice, but we cannot wait,” said Bradford. “We do not want to see it happen here.”

Apopka Chief of Police Michael McKinley was on the conference call and offered these comments when asked what the community can do to show support for the Apopka Police Department and Orange County Deputies; “Pray for the officers. They are human beings. Apopka is closed-knit community. There has been a great outpouring of support over the past week. People have been dropping off food and cards which are much appreciated by the officers. But we need the community’s prayers.”

Bradford went on to say, “We condemn any violence across the country against law enforcement officers.”

The rally in support of Apopka and Orange County Law Enforcement Officers will take place tomorrow morning from 8:00 AM to 8:20 AM on the steps of the Apopka City Hall, 120 East Main Street in Apopka.
