Orange County Clerk Declares Passport Week a Success

The numbers are in and it looks like Passport Week was a great success.

According to the Orange County Clerk of Courts, a total of 1,737 passport applications were processed during Passport Week. Of those applications, 245 were processed specifically during the extended hours.

The Apopka branch location processed a total of 321 passport applications. And of those applications, 83 were processed specifically on Saturday, April 23^rd.

Passport Week was held from Monday, April 18^th to Saturday, April 23^rd. It allowed customers to apply for a passport after hours at the Orange County Courthouse or during the weekend at two Clerk’s Office branch locations eliminating the need to take time off of work or school.

Throughout the week, the Passport Division in the Orange County Courthouse remained open an extra hour and a half until 5:30 pm and the Clerk’s Office branch locations in Apopka and Winter Park opened their doors an extra day on Saturday, April 23^rd from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm.

“We hosted Passport Week because we wanted to make it more convenient for our customers planning to travel abroad this summer to apply for a passport,” said Clerk Tiffany Moore Russell. “I couldn’t be more proud of all the positive feedback we have received and about all the customers who took advantage of our extended hours during the week.”

Seminole County residents were also able to take advantage of the additional hours as the Clerk’s Office Apopka and Winter Park branches are close to families who live near the Orange and Seminole County line.
