Clean the World Announces Relief Effort to Help Haiti
Orlando-based social enterprise Clean the World needs hundreds of volunteers here in Central Florida ASAP to support a major, new relief effort to help hurricane victims in Haiti. Hurricane Matthew has killed almost 900 people and left thousands more in southern Haiti in a desperate situation. Central Floridians can help by supporting the “Haiti Needs Your Help” relief effort. Follow the hashtag #SoapSavesLives on Facebook and Twitter for updates.
Clean the World is urgently trying to send 400,000 bars of soap and disaster relief hygiene kits to hurricane victims in southern Haiti. This will help against the cholera outbreak that is likely to follow. Clean the World urges hundreds of volunteers to make a difference this week by visiting its Orlando distribution center to help package the life-saving soap so it can be shipped quickly.
“Please invite your family, friends, neighbors, co-workers and church groups to volunteer at our distribution center this Monday to help us move out these hygiene items ASAP,” says Clean the World Founder and CEO Shawn Seipler. “Let’s work together to bring relief and hygiene to our struggling friends in hurricane ravaged Haiti.”
Seipler is available for in-studio interviews during your Sunday morning newscast to discuss the “Haiti Needs Your Help” effort. He is also available for interviews throughout the day this Sunday. News crews are invited to visit the Clean the World distribution center Monday from 8 AM to 1 PM to interview volunteers working to make a difference. The center is located at 400 Pittman Street, Suite A in Orlando, FL 32801.
Clean the World also needs donations to help pay to ship the soap and disaster relief hygiene kits to southern Haiti. Every donation of 50 cents will ensure a bar of soap is delivered to a child or mother in need in southern Haiti. The Orlando social enterprise hopes to raise $200,000 to deliver 400,000 bars of soap and disaster relief hygiene kits to Haiti. To donate, go here.
