Orange County unemployment rate remains at 3.1% in August

Still outpacing the state and national unemployment figures

The unemployment rate in the CareerSource Central Florida region (Lake, Orange, Osceola, Seminole, and Sumter counties) was 3.3% in August 2019. This rate was 0.1 percentage point lower than the region's year-ago rate of 3.4%. The region's August 2019 unemployment rate was 0.2 percentage point lower than the state rate of 3.5%. The labor force was 1,424,115, up 53,773 (+3.9) over the year. There were 46,463 unemployed residents in the region.

Central Florida's Lowest Unemployment Rates:

Orange County and Seminole County had the lowest unemployment rate (3.1%) in the CareerSource Central Florida region followed by Lake County (3.4%), Osceola County (3.6%), and Sumter County (5.2%).

Nonagricultural Employment was 1,347,400, an Increase of 51,600 Jobs (+4%) Over the Year.
