From Orange County Public Schools

OCPS hopes all families fared well during Hurricane Matthew. Our district staff has assessed all school sites over the weekend to prepare for a Monday, October 1014572187_10154543111962243_5550620298397153925_n reopening. While some issues still exist, the OCPS maintenance and custodial teams will continue to work to resolve those issues this weekend and into early next week. A huge Thank You goes out to all the district staff that helped prepare for and respond to the storm. Please see (and share) the information below for your planning purposes. As power has not been restored to all Orange County citizens, please pass along this information with neighbors and fellow parents.

  1. There is a severe need for more hurricane shelters that will take in people’s pets too. Many people will not leave their unsafe dwellings such as mobile homes due to the fact that they have pets and will not leave their pets behind.
