Apopka High School homecoming events, football game postponed

From Orange County Public Schools

All schools, including the campuses of Orange Technical College, will be closed Thursday, Oct. 6th and Friday, Oct. 7th. This decision was made to prioritize the safety of students and staff. This will allow our families to prepare for potential effects from Hurricane Matthew. The district must also prepare schools to be used as shelters for coastal evacuees. All OCPS activities, on and off campus, are cancelled beginning Thursday and lasting through Sunday, Oct. 9th. As you remember, make-up days are planned well ahead of time in our board-approved calendar. The make-up days for these missed days are October 28, 2016 and April 28, 2017.

Apopka High School’s homecoming events and its Friday football game against Olympia High School will be postponed.

  1. I am praying for all of us here in Apopka, may we make it through this hurricane safely, without being hurt or worse, and praying our homes and properties remain intact. This is very scary, as when the winds blow so hard, for so long, damage happens. Keep us our families and neighbors safe and look out for the pets too. God bless us all.
