A "night out" celebration to fight crime is fast approaching

Posted

From the Orange County Government Media Relations Department

The 34th Annual National Night Out celebration is rapidly approaching. This year’s celebration is scheduled for August 1, 2017 and October 3, 2017. The Orange County Sheriff's Office Crime Prevention Unit would like to continue to bring communities together and raise awareness on crime prevention. To help raise awareness on crime prevention methods, the Orange County Sheriff's Office will host an annual National Night Out (NNO) “Ridding Crime” contest. We encourage you to attend the NNO pre-celebration meeting on July 20, 2017.

We would like to invite every community to participate in this year’s NNO Celebration, whether or not you plan to enter the contest. Entering the contest is not mandatory for any Neighborhood Watch Group and communities not participating in the contest are still encouraged to register with the Neighborhood Preservation & Revitalization Division and take part in NNO. For more information, contact Master Deputy Stanley Murray at Stanley.Murray@ocfl.net.
