Good morning Apopka. It's finally here - Election Day 2018.
As of 5 PM on Monday 2,523 voters have cast their ballots either at the early voting site or by mail-in ballot. The projection is that over 5,000 voters will participate in this groundbreaking race; the first mayoral race in Apopka without John Land's name on the ballot since 1947.
Stay with The Apopka Voice all day for wall-to-wall coverage of the elections. There will be published features, interviews of candidates, on-site updates from the polling places, and election results as soon as they are known after the polls close at 7:00 PM.
Check back on Wednesday for analysis of the races... who won, who lost, why, and what lies ahead as it relates to the voters and citizens of Apopka.
Have a great Election Day Apopka, and hopefully, in the coming days, weeks and months, the community can come together with these leaders whether incumbent or new to springboard Apopka into its promising future.
