Hurricane Grill & Wings opens Apopka location

Fifth location in the Central Florida market for the franchise

Hurricane Grill & Wings, a beach-themed full-service restaurant, is celebrating the opening of its newest restaurant in Apopka, Florida. The restaurant opened its doors on July 3rd at the Wekiva Riverwalk shopping center at the corner of 436 and South Wekiwa Springs Road. It will celebrate its grand opening tomorrow. The location will be one of five in the Orlando market.

Specific grand opening activities include:

Live Music from 1:00 to 4:00 pm and 7:00 to 10:00 pm

Ribbon Cutting Ceremony at 2:30 pm featuring City of Apopka Mayor Joseph E. Kilsheimer; Vice Mayor Billie Dean; Commissioners Doug Bankson, Kyle Becker and Diane Velazquez; Community Development Director James Hitt; Police Chief Michael McKinley; and Assistant Fire Chief Brian Bowman

Wing Eating Contest between Apopka Police and Apopka Fire Departments at 3:00 pm

Prize Giveaways including Free Wings For A Year*, Kona Beach Cruiser, and more all day

Additionally, there will be a check presentation and donation from Hurricane Grill & Wings Apopka to the HOPE CommUnity Center, a service learning community dedicated to the empowerment of Central Florida’s immigrant and working poor communities through education, advocacy, and spiritual growth.

The island-inspired restaurant is 3,500 square feet and features a large outdoor patio and inside/outside bar. Hours of operation will be: Sunday to Thursday 11:00 am to 11:00 pm; Friday to Saturday 11:00 am to 12:00 am. About 50 employees will work at the location and report to General Manager Brian Kopp. Hurricane Grill & Wings Apopka is a franchise location owned by Mikey and Diana Joseph. This is the first of several locations the couple plan to open in the Orlando market. The Josephs are experienced restaurateurs in the United States and Trinidad.
