474 positive cases in Florida Residents and 46 positive cases in non-Florida residents

By Joint Information Center on COVID-19 for the State of Florida

To keep Florida residents and visitors safe, informed and aware about the status of the virus, The Florida Department of Health has launched a COVID-19 dashboard that will be updated twice daily. Today, as of 11 a.m., there are 520 total** Florida cases.

One person has died in Broward County who had previously tested positive for COVID-19.

New Florida cases include:

  • 88 additional positive COVID-19 cases (81 Florida residents and 7 non-Florida residents) reported to the Florida Department of Health.
  • There are currently 474 positive cases in Florida residents and 46 positive cases in non-Florida residents.

Florida recently partnered with private laboratories around the state to expand COVID-19 laboratory testing capacity. This partnership will increase the number of tests conducted each day and ensure Floridians receive the critical health information they need in a timely manner.

Expansion to private laboratories changes the COVID-19 testing landscape in Florida. Private laboratories are running tests as they receive swab samples from practitioners. Testing and reporting times vary among commercial and DOH laboratories. Demographic information may be updated during investigations. These twice daily reports reflect the state’s efforts to accurately and transparently share information.

More information on a case-by-case basis can also be found here.

  1. I am sick of this government “nanny state” for imposing all of these restrictions, and closing of businesses, and causing chaos in our lives due to a virus. They, the authorities, are the ones causing serious damage to our cities, states, and country! Whoever started this shutting down everything mess, and whoever is promoting all these fear-factors are ruining this country! Things will never be the same, and I long for yesterday, when all this craziness did not exist, and everyday life was wonderful!

  2. Stay home 24 seven if you want, wear masks, wear gloves, clean and wipe down everything every minute of your life if you choose, but leave the rest of us alone, to do, and go where we want! What makes me sick is the so-called experts that are not experts! Stop your holier or thou preaching!

  3. You sheriffs should be out fighting crime that is RAMPANT here in this county, and not be forcing citizens to stay at home with a curfew. You all are trying to treat us like little teenagers. I happen to notice you all are gathered together in front the tv cameras close together, and in a large group….practice what you preach! You all will impose any crazy restrictions to get to stand in front of the tv cameras to get to watch yourselves on tv, you camera hogs!
