Duck Dynasty stars to speak in Apopka

Posted

Alan Robertson is the oldest son of the Duck Commander, Phil Robertson and his wife, Miss Kay. Alan's wife, Lisa, calls herself “the original Robertson daughter-in-law.”

They appear on the family’s hit television show, Duck Dynasty on A&E, with the rest of the family where Al is known as the beardless brother. They pastored for more than 22 years at the White’s Ferry Road Church in West Monroe, LA before returning to the family business, Duck Commander, to appear on the TV show and speak around the country.

Alan joined the show in Season 4. He grew up hunting and fishing and was key in helping build the foundation of the family business, Duck Commander, in the 1970’s and 1980S. In the early days, Al and his father would travel around Louisiana and Arkansas selling duck calls to stores out of their truck. The sales pitch then is the same one they use today: “These calls are the best ‘cause they sound just like a duck!’” He also used a band saw to cut calls in the early days.

He and his younger brothers, Jase and Willie, also cut boxes and folded them to package the duck calls. Everyone played an important role in the evolution of Duck Commander and still do to this day.

Al and Lisa have written and co-written devotional books, books about the Robertson family, and also their own story, A New Season. Alan and Lisa have been married for over 32 years, have two married daughters, three granddaughters & two grandsons. Their passion is traveling together and working hard to help strengthen and save marriages by sharing what God has done in their own marriage through brokenness, renewal, hope and forgiveness.

Following each worship gathering, Al and Lisa will greet everyone at their book table in the Atrium, where they will have their latest book available for sale.
