Posted

Officials in Cincinnati held a press conference this morning and provided updated information about the shooting at the Cameo nightclub.

The man shot and killed was named by police during the press conference as Obryan Spikes, age 27. At least 15 others were shot, and one of those people is in "extremely critical condition," according to Cincinnati police Chief Eliot Isaac.

The shooting occurred arround 1:30 AM this morning. Police believe that multiple people fired shots. No one has been arrested.

Chief Eliot Isaac said that the initial investigation indicates that several Cincinnati area men were in a dispute, leading to the gunfire early Sunday at the Cameo club. Several people were involved.

Some of the victims were taken to area hospitals via ambulance, and others arrived are there own, police said.

Isaac added that hundreds of people were inside of the nightclub at the time of the shooting, and called it a “chaotic crime scene.”

“Many of them fled, unfortunately. Many of the witnesses fled, but everyone that we can identify is being interviewed,” he said.

Surveillance cameras were inside the club at the time of the shooting, police said.

Several police officers were in the nightclub's parking lot. According to Isaac, Cincinnati police provide parking lot security for all establishments with liquor licenses.

Of nine victims taken to University of Cincinnati Medical Center, police said two people are in critical condition and seven people are stable. Five of the seven stable patients are expected to be released soon.

Two people were treated and released from Bethesda North Hospital, and two more are at Christ Hospital in stable condition. One person was treated and released at Mercy Anderson Hospital and another was treated and released at Mercy West Hospital.
