After months of deliberation, Jerry Demings has decided to run for Orange County Mayor during the 2018 election cycle. He wants to continue his 36 years of public service, but from a different county building. It is one that he worked in for nearly six years prior to being elected Orange County Sheriff. Friends and family along with supporters will be joining the Sheriff during this announcement. Interviews will be available immediately following the announcement.

Demings will announce his campaign today at 4 PM at the Orange County Administration Building at 201 South Rosalind Avenue in Orlando. This is a breaking news story. The Apopka Voice will publish updates as more information is known.
